SWALIM VI will focus on delivery of high quality Water and Land specific analysis, products and services, necessitating a return to founding concepts that have proven durable for SWALIM, with results grounded in three core pillars;

  • Generating Water and Land Information: Maintaining and expanding water and land early warning and monitoring systems, in parallel with developing new baselines for newly recovered areas, and producing new studies that underpin development.
  • Information Management for Knowledge Communication: Ensuring availability of relevant information to government and itโ€™s institutions, as well as other key stakeholders including international development partners, civil society, the private sector, and academic research partners through IRUโ€™s with dedicated IM tools, services, staff and procedures.
  • Developing Capacity for Sustainable Futures: Strengthening capacity and ownership of government through provision of resources, training and education, and technical assistance for the development of durable institutions and their personnel.
