Apiculture Specialist

Duration: .... month (on a "while actually employed" basis)

Job Description:

The National Apiculture Specialist will undertake his/her duties under the guidance of the National Programme Coordinator (NPC), (and the TCDC International Apiculture Specialist). His/her duties will include:

• assist the NPC to prepare a workplan for the bee-keeping activities of the programme;
• assist with the implementation of the bee-keeping component;
• assist with the training of farmers and front-line Government staff on issues relating to the appropriate farm management techniques for bee-keeping
• contribute to the preparation of proposals for the Extension of Phase I and for Phase II of the programme;
• Carry out other duties as defined by the NPC.

Qualifications:

Minimum of an MSc degree in Agriculture and at least 7 years experience in implementing bee-keeping development activities.
