Livestock Economist

Job Description:

The Livestock Economist will undertake his/her duties under the guidance of the National Programme Coordinator (NPC) and in collaboration with other members of the team and national counterparts. His/her duties include:

  • assist the NPC to prepare a work plan for the SPFS;
  • working closely with the National Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Constraints Analysis Advisor, carry out a review of financial and economic impacts, including the estimations of gross margins, of the livestock and aquaculture activities of the programme;
  • provide monitoring and evaluation guidelines for the Diversification Component of the programme.
  • prepare appropriate reports as specified in the workplan;
  • assist in the preparation of proposals for implementation in the Extension of Phase I and Phase II of the programme;
  • other duties as defined by the NPC.

Qualifications:

A minimum of MSc in Livestock Economics and at least 7 years of experience on economic and financial evaluation of livestock projects.
